What is Lynyrd Skynyrd's Simple Man Cruise?
Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Simple Man Cruise is a four-day music festival hosted by Lynyrd Skynyrd, featuring many bands soon to be announced. It sails from Tampa, FL to Grand Cayman from Thursday, January 20, 2011 through Monday, January 24, 2011 aboard the Carnival Inspiration.
What does the price of Simple Man Cruise 2011 include?
In addition to your ticket to ONE Lynyrd Skynyrd headlining show, and general admission to all the great free concerts, the following are included in the price of your room:
- all meals (there's gourmet fare in the formal dining rooms, casual indoor and outdoor grills open for meals throughout the day and 24 hour room service)
- non-carbonated beverages (i.e. tea, juices, coffee)
- use of the ship's beautiful pools and giant waterslide (all with plenty of deck space to enjoy a cocktail and some great music)
- use of the ship's health and fitness center
- Camp Carnival facilities if you're bringing your children
- taxes, port charges and ticketing are added at check-out and pre-paid for you ($149 per person)
Not included are:
- gratuities ($10 per person, per day will be charged to your onboard spending account)
- gambling
- spa
- alcoholic beverages
- soft drinks (Please note that the Fountain Fun Card will not be available on this sailing, and that sodas will be purchased a la carte.)
- any meals, events or tours while in Port
- airfare
- ground transportation (although we do recommend several shuttle services in the Tampa area. See Ground Transportation)

Will the bands be onboard the whole time?
All of our artists, including Lynyrd Skynyrd, are excited to join you onboard all four days of the event!
Are there any cruise discounts available?
- Reservations paid in full by May 15, 2010, will receive a 5% discount.
- A discount of $99 is available to children ages 14 years and under.
- A discount of 5% to any active-duty military personnel (must Fax Military ID).
- Single Occupancy discount of $199.
- No combining of non-age related discounts is allowed.
Simple Man Cruise 2011 goes on sale to the general public May 18th, after the Paid In Full discount deadline, so we are extending the 5% Pay In Full discount opportunity until May 31st. This extension only applies to any NEW BOOKINGS made AFTER May 15th, 2010, and must be paid in full AT THE TIME OF BOOKING. If you booked before May 15th, you must pay in full by the original deadline to receive the 5% discount.
Am I guaranteed access to all shows onboard?
Other than your ticket to you ONE Lynyrd Skynyrd headlining show, Simple Man Cruise 2011 is run “festival style," with multiple shows going on simultaneously. All shows are general admission, so you're welcome to come and go as you wish!
There are cases where capacity is limited, but all artists will perform multiple times during the cruise.
What is the ship's itinerary?
Subject to change, the cruise itinerary is:
- Thursday, January 20, 2011 - Depart Tampa FL, on the Carnival Inspiration (approx 4:00pm ET). You must be on board by 3:00pm. We recommend planning your flights to arrive no later than 12 noon to ensure ample travel time to the port.
- Friday, January 21, 2011 - Rock Day at Sea!
- Saturday, January 22, 2011 – Grand Cayman (times TBA)
- Sunday, January 23, 2011 - Rock Day at Sea!
- Monday, January 24, 2011 - Arrive in Tampa, FL (approx 8:00am ET). It is not advised to book a flight any earlier than 12 noon on arrival date. Customs could delay debarkation.
